The cream feeder should be stored away from heat sources and is usually purchased in packaged form.
A typical cream filling can is about 2.5 inches (6.3 cm) long and 0.7 inches (1.8 cm) wide. One end forms a narrow, tightly screwed into the dispenser until it is punctured. Puncturing the cylinder releases the substance dispenser inside. When cooking with a cream feeder, one cartridge is usually used, and no more than two.
The cream feeder injects nitrous oxide into the cream to produce whipped cream.
